BroadbandMatch is designed to help Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) recipients identify partners, prospective vendors, and other opportunities for collaboration. Using the tool, BTOP awardees can search by geography and areas of expertise the profiles of over 1400 partner organizations registered on the site.
BroadbandMatch will promote the Presidential goal of universal, affordable brroadband access for Americans. The site will help facilitate collaboration among interested stakeholders and help business, non-profits, state and local governments, and others find partners, additional resources, and alternative funding sources to support their broadband effort.
The Department of Commerce's
National Telecommunications and Information Administration
encourages recipients to use qualified small business, including socially and economically disadvantaged small business, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and other minority-owned firms, as partners in implementing BTOP projects. Originally designed to facilitate partnerships among potential applicants for Recovery Act initiatives, NTIA has updated BroadbandMatch to help recipients conduct their procurements and identify partners both locally and nationally. Potential vendors and contractors seeking to market their goods and services to grant recipients are also invited to register on the site.
